Preheat your roaster oven to 450 degrees.
Cut a 4/5 pound beef chuck into one inch cubes.
In a plastic bag combine 1/2 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Shake to combine well. Add the beef cubes and coat thoroughly. Then pour the contents of the bag, flour mixture and all, into the heated roaster oven. Stir in 2 teaspoons of paprika, 2 bay leaves and 2 tablespoon minced garlic. Stir gently to combine.
Add 3 and 1/2 to 4 cups of beef broth and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Again, stir to combine.
Then add 1 large chopped onion, 6/7 large cubed potatoes (I leave the skins on), 4 large sliced carrots and 3 stalks of chopped celery.
Cover the roaster oven with the lid and cook on high for 3 and 1/2 hours. Remove the lid and add a bag of frozen peas. Stir to combine. Cook with the lid off for another half hour or so. Serve with warm bread or dinner rolls. Now there’s a Sunday social dish you will be singing praises over.
